| Interactive CD Rom Help: Overview |
ET Resources Language Packs are supplied on CD-ROM discs,
each disc has a unique serial number printed on it. You will need
Windows administrator rights and an Internet connection to
install and register the software quickly and successfully.
It is also possible to install this software without an Internet
connection but you must still install this software logged in as a
Windows administrator.
The CD-ROM is not required to run the program once it is installed.
In order to run this product on more than one computer you need
to purchase either more copies of it or get a site licence from ET
Resources.
Once a Language Pack has been registered it cannot be installed
on another computer unless it has been uninstalled and
de-registered using the Internet or by using the manual method.
Not registering the product puts the Language Pack into 'Demo
Mode', this pops up a reminder message every 10 cards. |

| Interactive CD Rom Help: Installing on Limited User Accounts |
Limited user accounts are typically local user accounts that
are created for each user of a standalone PC. For example
if the Windows login screen has one or more family
member's or colleagues names displayed then all or some
of those may be Limited user accounts.
To install this software on a limited user account:
1. Login as Administrator.
2. Open Windows Control Panel, choose 'User Accounts',
select the Limited account name for the user who will use
this software. Change the account type to 'Computer
Administrator'.
3. Log out as Administrator, then log in as the user who will
use this software.
4. Install the software as per the instructions in 'Installing
on a standalone PC'.
5. Log in as Administrator and change the user's account
back to 'Limited Account'. |
| |
| Interactive CD Rom Help: Installing on Restricted Network Accounts |
Restricted network accounts are usually used in a networked
environment where several workstations connected to a
file server are set up for groups of users. Each group has
it's own access restrictions to certain programs, settings
and desktop appearance. For example logging in as 'Pupil'
loads a different desktop to logging in as 'Teacher'. This
system typically uses 'roaming profiles' to store the settings
for each group of users. These profiles are shared from the
file server.
The following steps should only be done by the network
administrator or technician who looks after your network.
Before continuing ensure each workstation requiring access to this
software has a separate Language Pack serial number and a live
Internet connection.
1. Log in as Administrator and temporarily change the user
group's privileges to Computer Administrator'.
2. On each workstation that will use this software, log in as a
member of this group and install the software from the CD-ROM
as per the 'Installing on a Standalone PC' instructions. You may
alternatively copy the files on the disc to a shared resource and
install them from there.
3. Using a workstation that can edit the group profile; run Regedit,
locate:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ET Resources
right click on this key and change the Permissions to 'Full Access'
on all groups and accounts.
4. The Profile for this group should now have the ET Resources
Icons and Program Groups installed, if using a roaming profile you
will need to update the roaming profile on the server.
5. Change the user group's privileges back to their original setting. |
